Continental Box Seating
New Zealand-made upholstered box seating with a recessed laminated base available in Melteca woodgrain finishes.
Continental Box Seating has a defined, self-contained upholstered form for cafés, restaurants, bars, hotels and home dining spaces. Like the Continental booth designs, this box-style seat has a recessed laminated base that gives the lower section a finished appearance and can be coordinated with the surrounding tables or interior using Melteca woodgrain finishes.

Made by Elevated Furniture in New Zealand, the Continental Box range uses a durable ply and pine internal frame with firm, commercial-grade foam. This model is listed in a 1200mm length and upholstered in the Standard Fabric Range.

Melteca base finish and care
The recessed base is made from laminated board and finished in Melteca PureGrain wood-look decor, with timber-inspired options such as light oak and pine. The decorative surface is hard-wearing and can be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild detergent; wipe spills promptly and dry the surface. The board substrate is the important consideration. Laminex advises that standard particleboard-backed Melteca is not intended for wet or wash-down applications and must not be used where the substrate could come into contact with water. If moisture reaches exposed edges, joints or the board itself, the substrate can swell and panel performance can be affected. Where floors are regularly wet-washed or moisture may collect around the base, discuss the cleaning routine with Elevated Furniture before specifying this finish. Suitability depends on the exact board substrate and how the base is detailed and protected.

OUR BOOTH SEATING
At Elevated Furniture, we are proud to produce high-quality, New Zealand–made booth seating. Every booth is crafted locally—not imported—allowing us to maintain strict quality control and offer exceptional flexibility in design. Our standard booth styles can be customised to any length to suit your space, with careful consideration given to access into your premises.
All booths are fully freestanding, meaning no wall or floor fixing is required. To complete your look, you can choose from an extensive range of commercial-grade fabrics and vinyls, available in an array of colours from understated neutrals to bold, vibrant tones.

LEAD TIMES
Lead times vary depending on our workload and the time of year your order is placed. Generally, production takes 3–5 weeks from the date of order confirmation.
If delivery is required, please allow an additional week to coordinate transport and logistics.
CONSTRUCTION
Quality and durability sit at the heart of everything we build. Our booths are constructed using solid pine and plywood—never MDF, which can absorb moisture and compromise structural strength over time.
We adhere to the industry-standard seating height of 460mm–490mm, ensuring long-lasting comfort, proper support, and a seating experience that won’t sink over time, especially in dining environments.
